Exercise May Protect Body Against Infection.
Abstract
The article presents information on a study conducted by physiologists Joseph G. Cannon and Matthew J. Kluger at the University of Michigan medical school, according to which regular exercise can protect the body against infection. According to the scientists, rise in body temperature due to vigorous exercise is caused by endogenous pyrogen (EP), which is the same substance in the blood that causes fever during infections.
