- Abstract
How to get teachers of certain vocational subjects with broad and balanced preparation, without sacrificing the necessary practical and technical competencies, is a difficult problem of one great area of teacher education. This article describes the manner in which the Department of Vocational Education and Practical Arts at the University of Michigan has attacked the problem. Mr. Wenrich is Chairman of the Department and Professor of Vocational Education. He has had broad experience as a vocational teacher in the public schools, as a staff member of a state department of education, and as a university teacher. He is the author of many articles in his field.
