- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of public opinion on the issue of global migration and how it can support economic growth. The rise of anti-immigrant parties is an evidence that public opinion in many countries does not seem to accept the existence and beneficial effects of labor migration. According to observations, the challenge with respect to public opinion is not to get a consensus about immigration issues but to restrict false preconceptions. It is noted that public opinion influences not only the acceptance of additional immigration in Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries but also may effect the union of existing immigrant populations.
