- Abstract
Objective To investigate whether Maixuekang combined with rehabilitation therapy can promote the upper limb function recovery and reduce the occurrence rate of shoulder-hand syndrome after cerebral infarction. Methods The clinical data in 88 cases of acute ischemic stroke in these two hospitals from June 2015 to March 2017 were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into the control group(n =26),Maixuekang combined rehabilitation group(n =33) and rehabilitation group(n=29) according to the adopted rehabilitation therapy after discharge from hospital. The control group conducted the self rehabilitation therapy. The Maixuekang combined rehabilitation group was given Maixuekang Capsule combined with early rehabilitation training. The rehabilitation group was given pure early rehabilitation training. The other treatment was same. The FuglMeyer assessment(FMA) score and Barthel score in the three groups were recorded in the acute stage, on 90 d after treatment. The upper limb function and daily activity ability were evaluated. The occurrence situation of shoulder-hand syndrome within 90 d was observed in 3 groups. Results The FMA and Barthel scores after 90 d treatment in the Maixuekang combined rehabilitation group and rehabilitation group were significantly higher than those in the control group. The Barthel score in the Maixuekang combined rehabilitation group was significantly higher than that in the rehabilitation group. The occurrence rate of shoulder-hand syndrome in the Maixuekang combined rehabilitation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The FMA score had no statistical difference between the Maixuekang combined rehabilitation group and rehabilitation group(P>0.05). Conclusion Maixuekang combined with rehabilitation therapy can better recover the upper limb function, reduces the occurrence rate of shoulder-hand syndrome and increases the daily activity ability.
