The article discusses a study by the University of North Carolina in the U.S. and the Karolinska Institute in Sweden that assessed links between perceived negative consequences of anorexia nervosa (AN), caregiver distress, and the degree of satisfaction with the relationship. Topics include patients' referral with lower body mass index for higher levels of care, evaluation of partner behaviors with an observational coding system, and level of caregiver distress when working against AN.
