The article discusses some forms of Scottish words and phrases and offers an etymology for them. It cites the vagueness of the battle of "Mocetauc" in 1750, which was recorded in English, Welsh, and Irish annals. According to Alex Woolf, "Mocetauc" was Mugdock, a small place two miles north of Milngavie in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. A Gaelic etymology "Dery Dan" in a poem by William Dunbar is explained.
