- Abstract
From a dialectical focus, where everything is at the same time quality and quantity, we reflect about the need to achieve integration in the field of educational research's methods. A parallel between the paradigms qualitative and quantitative is a useful guide to understand the fundamental differences between both epistemic focuses. As appropriate terminologies, we argued the convenience of using the qualitative and quantitative methodology, both of bigger practical concretion. Departing from here, we introduce the «methodological continuum» concept, which helps to explain the process of integration, under the dynamics of successive combinations and complementation. After analyzing the present condition of the educational Cuban investigations, relating to the research design employed, we explored a concrete case where the triangulation allows us to understanding the dynamics of dialectic relations between quality and quantity. The example has been selected of a 400-thesis set doctoral, of the field of the pedagogic sciences, and it serves as illustration about the inherent complexity to the search of integration.
