Junior doctors caught in the clash: the transition from learning to working explored.
- Authors
Teunissen, Pim W; Westerman, Michiel
- Abstract
In this article, the authors discuss several studies which assess the behaviour of newly qualified doctors in caring for acutely unwell patients and the impact of transitions on junior doctors' medical performance. They state that the studies could result to a problem which arises from different approaches to training medical doctors. They also note that the studies show that transitions in medical performance are prolonged developmental processes.
