- Abstract
Hitler's desire for German expansion became increasingly obvious throughout 1938. German troops marched into Austria on 12 March 1938 and, with the support of most Austrians, the country was annexed to Germany on 13 March 1938. There was little international resistance to this Annexion, which many viewed as a natural union. This little resistance was not well organized and it never amounted to much. During that period Turkey was an important center where Austrian Nazi opponents managed to come together. Austrian Communist Party was at the forefront of the anti-nazi resistance in Turkey. The aim of this article is to present the organization of Austrian intellectuels in Turkey against nazi regime in Austria.
