- Abstract
The main goal of this study was to study and evaluate the effect of MMA/HEMA copolymer on the mechanical properties and chemical composition of wood pulp and cotton I inter cellulose fibers samples under accelerated ageing .The change of the physical and chemical properties of the untreated and treated paper after ageing was assessed by different methods. The results revealed that copolymer improves the mechanical properties of the paper sheets with reduction in the AE. hut after heat ageing the value increased, which is a point to consider. From the micrographs, it is dear that the treated fibers are more bundled to each other than the untreated fibers where this fiber bundles increased by increasing the copolymer concentration.
