Survey Reveals Most Important Factors for Students Applying to Residency Programs.
- Abstract
The article reports on a survey from the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) concerning the factors that family medicine residency directors consider in students applying for residency programs in the U.S. The factors include Medical Student Performance Evaluation results, clerkship grades and letters of recommendation. Personal statements as well as volunteer experiences are also taken into consideration. It adds that the directors also assess the interview performance of the applicants.
