- Abstract
The article focuses on the play "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare. A comparison between fictional character Polonius with the biblical judge Jephthah is offered. An exposition on the history of early dramas in Elizabethan era and the publication of Homilies is presented. It comments on the depiction of Jephthah in early poetry and monuments.
