- Title
FREE BANKING AND THE STRUCTURE OF PRODUCTION: A CONTRAST OF COMPETING BANKING SYSTEMS.
- Authors
MAHONEY, DAN
- Abstract
The article explores the claims used in advocacy of fractional reserve banking (FRB) under a system of free banking developed by professor Guido Hülsmann. It notes that the increased demand for money has accompanied the periods of increased uncertainty, particularly when the demand for liquidity is heightened. The move of the professor to take into consideration the effects of the structure of production of changes under the fiat and commodity money system is also highlighted.
