- Abstract
The article describes the case of a 45-year-old male with a history of end-stage liver disease and who experienced pulmonary artery catheter (PAC) in the inferior vena cava (IVC). A continuous pulmonary artery (PA) pressure monitoring and fluoroscopy were performed prior to withdrawal of the PAC. The complications arising from PAC insertion include arrhythmia, pulmonary infarction, catheter knotting, catheter entanglement and PA rupture.
