The article focuses on the charge filed by the U.S. government on the six employees of the Beijing Dabeinong Technology Group Company (DBN), for stealing corn seeds of the biotech seed firms including Monsanto, DuPont Pioneer and LG Seeds. It discusses the inbred corn seed possesses engineered traits such as insect resistance and drought tolerance. It mentions the use of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the identification of genetic marker in the inbreed corn seed.
