- Abstract
This article reports the first evidence of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) naturally infecting amaryllis plants in India. The researchers observed symptoms of chlorotic stripes, yellowing foliage, and mild mosaic on amaryllis plants at a research center in Uttar Pradesh. They extracted RNA from symptomatic leaf samples and conducted genomic sequencing, which confirmed the presence of CMV in the plants. This finding is significant as it expands our understanding of the viruses that affect amaryllis plants in India.
