- Abstract
The article discusses legal issues regarding introduction of preventive detention orders (PDOs) in Australia. Topics discussed include impact of PDOs on detention on human rights such as right to freedom from arbitrary detention and right to fair trial, introduction of the Counter-Terrorism Legislation Amendment Bill 2014 by the government of Australia and origin of the PDO regime which started was started due to terrorist attacks in London, England in 2005.
