- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of international peoples' tribunals in the prohibition of the unlawful use of force under the application of the international law in the U.S. It analyzes that the international peoples' tribunals acts as a precursor to an official court campaign to force state-based mechanisms. It explores the efforts of the Russell Tribunal on the war in Vietnam of 1967 and the 2011-12 Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Trial in dealing with issue of 2003 Iraq War.
