- Authors
Derksen, John
- Abstract
The article discusses the 30-year economic and religious struggle of Anabaptists in the village of Börsch, near Strasbourg, France. It presents a history of the peasants' war in the village. It reveals that the case of Börsch demonstrated that daily life for the religious nonconformists in the villages near Strasbourg were concerned with physical, emotional, and spiritual survival. It adds that how exhausting it must have been to be an Anabaptist or a religious nonconformist in the 16th century.
