- Title
Gastrointestinal dialysis in the therapy of uremia.
- Authors

- Abstract
This article presents information on the use of gastrointestinal dialysis in the therapy of uremia. There are many effective ways of treating uremia, kidney transplantation, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Due to the costs, however, these sophisticated modes of therapy are either unavailable to, or simply cannot be afforded by, patients with uremia who live in developing areas. This justifies continued attempts to remove uremic metabolites and to correct fluid and electrolyte derangements by more simple means.
