- Abstract
Fatal spontaneous rupture of an iliac artery in a previously healthy twenty-year- old man with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type IV is reported. Etiology and clinical findings are mentioned and the high risk of lethal complications in type IV is emphasized. Despite the application of special techniques, mortality following vessel rupture in such patients remains exceedingly high.
