- Title
The changing trends in tobacco smoking for young Arab women; narghile, an old habit with a liberal attitude.
- Abstract
In this article the authors discuss the changing trends of tobacco use among young Arab females. They state that narghile smoking is becoming more acceptable in young women of conservative Arab countries, than cigarette smoking, due to lack of social restrictions on narghile smoking. They discuss recent studies on narghile smoking, and comment that the habit onsets at an earlier age than cigarette smoking, and its health hazards include pulmonary, neoplastic, and cardiovascular diseases.
