- Abstract
According to United Nations in 2008 the world faced the worst economic crisis since the Second World War. Though the reasons of the economic depression are different, a group of experts created by the European Commission aimed that the accounting and its regulation contributed in reinforcing the economic global crisis. In this context the G20 emitted a statement in the meeting of September, 2009 in Pittsburgh. In it there was a calling to the accounting regulators in order that all the members of the G20 were applying a unique accounting system based on the IFRS. And they establish a deadline: june, 2011. This article examines the degree of advance of each member of the G20 to achieve what they agreed in Pittsburgh.
