- Abstract
A 60 MW research reactor, called the China Advanced Research Reactor (CARR) was built at the China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE). Neutron scattering and neutron imaging are the main research and application fields based on CIAE. Until now the construction of nine instruments has been completed and the instruments are being commissioned. The first results were obtained at the end of last year when the reactor was operated for 42 hours. Furthermore, another five instruments are under construction and will be completed within five years.
