- Abstract
This article is a response to queries about a case series of central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) in COVID-19-associated rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis. The authors confirm that CRAO in these patients is due to mucormycosis, which occurs in the advanced stage of the disease with orbital involvement. The poor prognosis and mortality of COVID-19-associated rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis cases with CRAO on presentation are highlighted. The article emphasizes the need for early surgical intervention and the use of Amphotericin B for irrigation in the management of these cases.
