- Title
Why Are Seminaries Afraid of the Extraordinary Form?
- Authors
Smith, Christopher
- Abstract
The article discusses the old Latin Mass which seminaries try to avoid. It elaborates on the issues surrounding the attitude of seminaries toward the extraordinary form of mass. Among the reasons cited include the fear of not reaching people in the pews, the uncomfortable questions toward the liturgical reform that might arise, and the fear of dividing the community. It also presents reasons for accepting the extraordinary form and a plan to integrate it into seminary life.
