- Title
DOL regulations affirm PA care under FMLA.
- Authors
Killeen, Patrick E.
- Abstract
The article reports on the issuance of a final regulation clarifying the status of physician assistants (PAs) under the U.S. Department of Labor's Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). It is in line with the concerns of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). One of the concerns is that PAs should be added to the list of the recognized health care providers. The new form for use by the health care provider is contained in the regulation deleting the previous references form of PA.
