- Abstract
This article discusses the importance of human-centered design (HCD) in equitable health promotion initiatives. HCD is an approach that involves engaging end-users to understand their needs and preferences in order to create effective and user-friendly products and services. While HCD has been widely adopted in various industries, its use in healthcare and health promotion has been slower. The article highlights the potential value of HCD in health promotion program development, including greater participant engagement, enhanced program impact, and the reduction of health inequities. However, there are barriers to the adoption of HCD, such as the lack of awareness and the need for organizational commitment. The article emphasizes the need for a systems-based approach and the integration of employee feedback throughout the development process to ensure the effectiveness and value of health promotion programs.
