- Abstract
The article describes a science experiment wherein high school chemistry students in the U.S. are taught the techniques of titration, deemed a fundamental procedure in general chemistry. It notes that the students typically learn about acids, bases, and neutralization reactions. The experiment uses citric fruit juice and cola to perform an acid-base titration of hydrochloric acid (HCl) with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to determine the concentration of HCl after standardizing the NaOH solution.
