- Abstract
The article offers the author's opinions on the benefits of using the Kodály method, developed by Hungarian composer Zoltán Kodály, for music education in schools. The author comments on the opportunity that music teachers have to affect change in their students and in the music education system, and discusses his experiences teaching using the Kodály method. Tenets of the method are offered, including the belief that schools have a responsibility to teach and expose students to music.
