- Title
The USDA's Anti-Science Activism.
- Authors
MILLER, HENRY I.; CONKO, GREGORY
- Abstract
The article discusses the claims of U.S. presidential administrations that their health and safety regulations are grounded in science and not in politics, ideology, or personal preferences. It cites the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama and its adherence to the claim. It highlights the willingness of U.S. Department of Agriculture secretary Tom Vilsack to put science and the analyses of his own agency aside, and regulate in deference to special interests as well as the preferences of political appointees.
