- Title
Sex in the Wooden O: Exploring a Hetero v. Queer Matrix in the USF Productions of Much Ado about Nothing, The Merchant of Venice, and Macbeth.
- Authors
Wermers, James
- Abstract
The article discusses the issue of public sex, specifically implicit queer against hetero logic in several William Shakespeare plays, namely, "Much Ado About Nothing," "The Merchant of Venice," and "Macbeth." It claims that the plays were influenced by the essay "Sex in Public," by Lauren Berlant and Michael Warner. The plays were performed at the Utah Shakespearean Festival (USF).
