Presents an interview with Ko Ŭn, Korea's most prolific contemporary writer and journalist. When asked how he was able to keep hope amidst the adversity in his life, he refers how drinking, despair and poetry have gone hand in hand. For him, sorrow enables one to produce poetry. He describes how poetry should contain other people in order to awaken a positive response in them. This interview was translated by Brother Anthony of Taizé.
