- Abstract
The article focuses on a research done in order to determine the induction of herbivore defense and mechanical wounding by electrical signals in plants. It informs despite lack of a nervous system, some plants, such as the Mimosa pudica and the Dionaea muscipula, uses electrical signals mediated by two glutamate receptor like protein to trigger rapid leaf movement and release of jasmonate hormone. It informs that these electrical signals can approach 100 meters per second.
