To describe encounters between humans and wild animals and interactions between them, a series of obstacles - ontological, methodological and ethical - needs to be overcome. Out of the questions posed, field observations, and understanding of behaviours, between rationality and subjectivity, opportunities for research may emerge at the crossroads of the social sciences and natural sciences.
