- Abstract
This article presents a study that asks whether perceptions of and responses to violence in dating relationships are gendered and whether the factors that affect male perceptions also influence females. Intimate violence and perceptual deterrence, victim response to battering, gendered relationships and social control, and independent measures affecting perceptions of sanctions and responses to violence, is discussed in the article.
