Fertility-preserving treatments for endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia: the known unknowns.

- Abstract
A systematic review and meta-analysis published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute examined the effectiveness of fertility-preserving treatments for a precancerous condition called endometrial intraepithelial neoplasia (EIN) in women under 50 years old. The study found that a levonorgestrel-containing intrauterine device (IUD) had a higher resolution rate (96%) compared to oral progestins (86%). However, it is important to note that surgery remains the definitive treatment for women with EIN. Progestin treatment can be considered as a temporary option for women who wish to preserve fertility, but it is not a definitive treatment.
