- Abstract
The article discusses research investigating the effectiveness of systematic exposure of medical students to vascular surgery in increasing their knowledge of peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and the role of the vascular surgeons in managing the PVD disease spectrum. Topics include a brief overview of vascular surgery in the U.S., the level of knowledge deficiency among vascular surgeons regarding their role in managing patients with PVD, and the purpose of a third-year surgery clerkship.
