Abstract
The article discusses various school-based depression screening programs implemented by schools in the U.S. to identify students at risk for depression or violence. Schools are conducting discussion to educate students about depression and suicide and screening surveys to identify students with symptoms suggesting depression. Parents of students at risk of depression are notified by schools and are given referral for mental health services.
