- Abstract
In this paper discussed are the architectural views and principles towards acquiring beneficial solutions for protection of buildings in the Middle East in regard to climate effects, protection from direct sunlight effects, as well as finding possibilities for increasing of the humidity levels in urban and non-urban environments. The goal of this paper is to present guidelines to architectural engineers and experts the fundamental parameters for protection of direct long-term sunlight effects and to introduce the more successful attempts towards increasing of the humidity levels in the architectural design and expression, leading towards finding most suitable solution for comfortable living, while preserving the traditional cultural and religious way of life in this region being known for spreading through several different climate zones. If for every region of the Middle East is provided adequate architectural solution, this will represent a true scientific challenge for every architect, having in consideration the climate characteristics, the traditional and cultural landmarks of the region. In this short research presented are possible solutions for protection of exterior walls (façade walls) and other affected walls, flat roofs, as well as atriums as form and type of organized space from direct long-term sunlight exposure and solutions for increasing the levels of humidity in the region.
