- Title
Left out, left of, left over: Why migrants from non-English speaking backgrounds are not adequately recognised in health promotion policy and programs.
- Authors
Renzaho, Andre; Renzaho, Catherine; Polonsky, Michael
- Abstract
The article discusses the key challenges to providing the needs of migrants within the framework of health promotion policy and programs in Australia. The authors note that migrants are not underrepresented in most community-based research, are excluded from published research because of the use of probabilistic sampling and are poorly included in data mapping. Health policy and programs are biased against migrants because of different cultural values.
