The article discusses the use of antioxidants during chemotherapy and radiotherapy. It notes function of antioxidants which neutralize unstable molecules that can damage deoxyribonucleic acid, cell membranes and other cell parts. It mentions that antioxidants have benefits during and after cancer treatment and it can increase survival rates. Also included are the reasons for the lack of interest in research to determine the efficacy antioxidants.
