Maintaining a good psychophysical condition in old age is one of the objectives of senior education. An objective difficult to achieve i. a. due to the stigma of late adulthood, the stereotypes developed around it and - importantly - also the attitude towards their own lives and changes undergone by the seniors themselves, especially women. The novel by William Wharton is an attempt to crush these stereotypes and give the images of old age an entirely different dimension.
