- Title
Solving a 60-Year-Old Conflict.
- Authors
Bisharat, Ibrahim
- Abstract
The article focuses on the efforts of various international communities to establish peace between Israel and Palestine after the 1948 Arab-Jew conflict. Accordingly, the failure of the international community to promote peace and stability in the region was due to the fact that these negotiations and agreements have been dominated by vested interests and the balance of power. With all the failed negotiations throughout the decades, it has become imperative to change the bases of the negotiations, to eschew short-term utilitarian approaches and seek solutions predicated on the respect for human rights on the individual and collective levels.
