Abstract
The article features several athletes who won in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. Park Tae-hwan took the first-ever swimming gold for South Korea in the men's 400-metre freestyle. North Korean Pak Hyon-suk won the first gold for her country in the women's 63 kilogram (kg) class. Kosuke Kitajima of Japan claimed gold in the men's 100 and 200-metre breastroke, setting a new world record for the shorter distance.
