- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigated the role of glycosylated transmembrane protein CD147 in predicting pathological features of lupus nephritis (LN). The researchers gathered plasma and sport urine samples from 64 patients who underwent renal biopsy between 2008-2011. They found that CD147 induction was attacking injured glomeruli and infiltrating inflammatory cells, but not in damaged tubules representing atrophy.
