- Abstract
This paper analyzes the role of the International Executive Service Corps (IESC) in the international political scene between 1964 and 1966. We seek to understand the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funding to IESC. Methodologically, we analyzed David Rockefeller's (one of its founders) and Jack N. Berhman's (USAID administrator) personal archives. Their documents reveal IESC's modus operandi and its relations with United States government's upper administration. The research problem aims to understand if the IESC can be considered an unofficial, non-governmental way of pursuing formal political objectives, especially in expanding North American capital in peripheral countries, guided by a transnational basis preventive counterrevolutionary perspective.
