- Abstract
The article reports that the National Research Council will advise the National Science Foundation in the selection of candidates for the graduate fellowships in the United States. The fellowships will be awarded for study or work leading to master's or doctoral degrees in the biological, mathematical, physical, medical, social sciences, engineering, history and philosophy of science. The applicants are required to be citizens of the United States and will be judged solely on the basis of ability. They will also be required to take the Graduate Record Examinations.
