- Abstract
This article discusses a person's fitness and physical performance which depend upon factors such as energy output, neuromuscular functioning and psychological factors. Optimal performance is a synthesis of many factors. Sports give a logical beginning to the important subject of ergonomics or human engineering. the science of adapting the job, the machine, the tools, the workplace, and the milieu to the individual's ability. Many studies have now established that a systematic application of ergonomics which can reduce the risk of accidents, eliminate fatigue, create comfort and satisfaction, and provide a higher work effectiveness and productivity without further loading the worker.
