The article presents the views of Tom Davenport, business analytics author, co-author of the report "Big Data in Big Companies," on the use of big data within companies. Davenport recounts being surprised about the big-data activity level within companies, and being impressed by their commitment and investment levels. He explains that companies have become aware of the importance of big data and big-data analytics integration with traditional data and analytics.
